Working to Preserve and foster the things that help keep Lincoln special.
The Lincoln Community Trust was formed with the understanding that our town is uniquely special; we aim to preserve that reality and quality. The town of Lincoln, Vermont has a rich history and vibrant community. It is a town where neighbors help neighbors, people show up at town meeting day, and annual celebrations are wholeheartedly acknowledged.
Situated at the foot of Mount Abraham and surrounded by forests, fields and farms, Lincoln is known for its magical rural and scenic beauty. The Village Center sits on the banks of the New Haven River and includes Burnham Hall, the Fire Station, Lincoln General Store, Weathervane United (elderly housing project), United Church of Lincoln, Town Offices, Library and the Historical Society—and just down the road, the Lincoln Community School and Preschool (Lincoln has a small cooperative preschool and a community elementary school, dedicated to the sound, local education of its children).
Chartered in 1780, the town has a long history of logging, farming and innovation. Above are photos of our Village General Store from the late 1700’s through today.
The Lincoln Community Trust (LCT) is a non-profit organization created in 2023 by community members whose mission is to preserve and foster the things that make Lincoln Special. It is LCT's mission to focus broadly on strengthening, unifying and building the economic, cultural, educational and social services of our Lincoln community.
